Did Victoria keep her Secret?

God knows I love my models and I am usually the first one to defend them against endless talks of them being "too skinny," but upon watching snippets of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2011 I have come to the realization that there is something dreadfully wrong with one model in particular.  Her name is Karlie Kloss and she's been everywhere lately. Seeing her march down the VS runway for the first time made me feel incredibly proud at first because I had kept track of her career since she started modelling in 2006, but then when I noticed how painfully thin she looked, I did a grossed-out double-take and nearly choked on my Lays barbecue chips.  What happened to her??  And not only her, but nearly every angel walking up and down that runway!

Admittedly, I stopped finding the annual VS shows sexy eons ago.  Over the past 5 or so years the lingerie started getting tacky and terribly unrealistic.  I mean, who in their right mind would want to get down and dirty wearing 3 red-and-black umbrellas attached to their waist?  And don't even get me started on those hideous, cheap, bright yellow cheerleader suits!  Isn't VS supposed to be sexy?  Like, Agent Provacateur sexy?  Guess not.  If cheap plastic bras and panties are your idea of sexy, than so be it.  But for those of us who are used to the ritzy, swanky VS from ages ago, this is just not working out anymore.  No wonder Gisele quit.



Lily Donaldson



The one bright spot in the show for me was the presence of British model Lily Donaldson.  Initially thought to have lost out on the opportunity to grace the VS runway this year because of an injury, Lily surprised us all and showed up looking as cute as a cucumber!  She was one of the very few models who actually looked healthy and radiant that evening which says a lot about the current state of the fashion industry.
