The first day of fall has come and gone and you know what that means. The temperatures are dropping, the sweaters and scarves are coming out, but most of all nature is becoming a postcard :) What I mean by that is the colors are changing and they are beautiful. The yellows, the reds, the oranges, they are all a mixture of wow. Depending on where you are in the fall season, you can see pretty amazing colors when you go on a hike, for a walk or just go for a drive to see the spectacular colors that are around your city/town or outside of it.
The weather might be cold, but there is something about the smell that just makes it extra special. The smell of wood burning gets me every time. It is such a lovely smell that you want to seek out a fireplace and just enjoy a cup of something wonderful.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Another favorite of mine in the fall are all of the goodies that we get to enjoy. The vast amount of beverages, from hot apple cider to pumpkin spice latte to eggnog and many more. These drinks make me think of autumn every time. The elements within them offer me a comfort that goes back to my childhood. Yes they are fully flavored and have a ton of calories, but that is not what I am thinking about when I enjoy one of these drinks.
There are also a lot of delicious foods that we can relate fall to. There's pumpkin pie, sweet potatoes and turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing. There's apple picking activities that can be done which always leads to lots of apple jam and apple pies :) And don't forget the delicious soups that can be made in the fall from pumpkin soup to butternut squash soup to a hearty stew that fills you up and much more. :)
There are so many things that you can do in the fall like attending festivals, going on hayrides, horseback riding and canoeing while enjoying the scenery. No matter what you do this fall, enjoy it and relish in the beauty of mother nature.
Although autumn doesn't last that long (it seems to go by really fast), I enjoy all that it has to offer before the white stuff starts coming. It is a beautiful showcase of what beauty nature can bestow on us before taking it away with the entrance of winter.
